570 578 22 110 3 7For anyone that has a heart, these numbers may be tough to read.570 = Number of dogs that ended up in the Morgan County Pound in 2010578 = Number of cats22 = Dogs that were put to sleep110 = Cats that were put to sleep3 is the number of days allotted, hoping for original owners to reclaim a lost family petAnd 7.. 7 is the number of days that if not owner claimed, these 7 days are now all this animal has left to hope for a forever adoptive home and if this dream doesn't become reality his/her life will be taken**281 However is a slightly more comforting number. 281 animals were rescued through Scott County Rescue and PAWS! This means 281 animals did not have to be put to sleep by the pound. They were fostered and given more time, and found their forever families. Here is where P.A.W.S comes in, they want to be able to not only continue this pace of rescue, but to be able to offer even more. Currently most animals rescued are fostered in volunteer homes, so the availability is limited. These amazing people push their households, their families and personal space to the limits to do everything they can, preventing hundreds of needless animal deaths every year.P.A.W.S and The Pulse Night Club Presents DOG GONE FUN-RAISER! This is a huge effort to surpass what they have done thus far and create a No Kill Animal Rescue Facility here in the Jacksonville area! I am more than honored to be teaming up with this wonderful group of people, P.A.W.S -> Protecting Animal Welfare Society Inc, to help bring awareness to this harsh truth and raise money to continue on rescuing. Tickets are being sold, donations for silent auctions requested, all for a huge event to take place July 16, 2011!
